Thank you for your interest in the gathered faith community at First Lutheran Church in Montclair.
One of the marks of the Church is its dedication to being a universal expression of God's love. First Lutheran shows itself to be such a committed congregation. The pews and more importantly the governing Council and Teams are filled with people of all nationalities, cultures, races, ages and backgrounds. Longtime Swedish and German members consider African Americans, Guyanese, Islanders, Asians, and people of other national origins as their brothers and sisters in Christ. Blended families and persons from the GLBT community join together in mission and ministry. The universality of the Gospel message is truly present in this loving, caring, and growing group.
